Tanukichan coming back to Tucson is a dream come true, then double that because she brought Alison’s Halo with her. This was such a fun concert, and I’ve never socialized at a concert as much as I did that night. The sound bouncing off the tall church walls made everything better, and Tanukichan’s vocals were perfect. I love that you could hear every string being played by the bass and guitars; it’s hard to hear that nowadays. Their touring partners, Alison’s Halo, set was so magical and angelic. I couldn’t have been more captivated by a show than I was that night. They sounded even better live; it was earthy and felt like a melody that relaxed every bone in my body. Catherine Cooper’s vocals brought a tear to my eye, making the show have a feeling of calmness and peace that the crowd collectively felt. I’m not even joking when I say that I think everyone at that concert was happy that night. I can’t go on with this review without talking about the venue in itself. This was my first time at La Rosa since it officially opened in October, and the dim lights and colorful environment made the experience breathtaking. I felt like a kid walking around and looking up all the time to see the lights reflect on the ceiling. This is my new favorite venue, and I’m hoping that other artists I love come and play there. Booking Tanukichan and Alison’s Halo for this venue was absolutely perfect, and a night I will never forget, especially because I went with people who equally loved the show, like…

Angleyz: If there was ‘the place to be’ on Friday, November 21st in Tucson, it was at Tanukichan & Alison’s Halo. The two artists go so well together, like genuinely whoever’s idea it was to tour together is a genius. And shoutout to the opener, Animal Shin, whose loud shoegaze sounds created the perfect ambience to walk into. I can’t believe I have been lucky enough to see Tanukichan twice and meet her both times. She is a real-life angel. The same could be said for the Alison’s Halo band members, with whom I shared a very sweet interaction with on Instagram and even got a picture I took posted! Both performances were absolutely captivating. There were multiple moments where I just closed my eyes, forgot where I was, and let the music overtake me. And to say the space complemented the show would be an understatement. The old church turned music and event venue was quite literally angelic. La Rosa’s tall ceilings created a big open space perfect for the music to ricochet off the walls and for people to sway to the music. The view and sound of the show were enjoyable from all places, from the barricade to the back, where the entrance was, and especially at the balcony, where press had special access! This created such a unique environment that I rarely see at shows these days– no one was aggressively determined to get to the front. I was especially mesmerized by the lighting that accompanied the performances. Whether the credit lies with the artists or the venue, it created such a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy the music (and take selfies) in. I so agree with Ashley about this venue being a new favorite. I look forward to the next performance I get to see here!
