Tucson’s DUSK Festival debuted as a single-day festival in October of 2016, the lineup fronted by 9 artists including electronic duo Matt & Kim and trap DJ RL Grime. Since then, electronic, hip-hop, and indie music fans have gathered under the desert skies to enjoy a wide variety of acts across several stages in Jacome Plaza. Tucson’s ideal fall temperatures and delectable local “Tucson FEASTS” cuisine make for a great backdrop.
Among others beloved within their respective genres, 2025’s DUSK lineup boasts the inclusion of exhilarating dance-electronic trio Levity. Tucson’s November 16 date marks one stop among many of their Winter 2025/26 tour, reaching its conclusion in April 2026 at Coachella. They’re known for their high-energy sets, bringing hype and movement to the crowd no matter where they’re at. No doubt, Tucson festival-goers will fall in love with Levity’s vibe if they haven’t already had the chance.
Members PJ Carberry of Los Angeles and John Hauldren of Chicago came together to form Levity as a duo in 2019. Having met through roommates at University of Iowa, the two of them bonded over their similarities in music taste. They began to play opening shows together, forming their name from the words “levitate” and “gravity”. Nebraska student Josh Tarum completed the trio in 2022, their first performance together taking place at Friendsgiving on November 25 of that same year.
Levity’s 2023 Electric Forest set in Michigan, a stand-in after another artist’s flight delay, drew a lively crowd and kickstarted their rise on the scene. Building off of that momentum, they went all in on Social Media marketing, garnering listeners across the web eager for more of the vibrant sound Levity brings to the table. Their dubstep and space-bass infused track “Flip It” wormed its way into the ears of fans, putting them on the map as an upcoming artist of note within the electronic community. EDMTrain dubbed 2024 “The year of Levity”, their “Full Circle Tour” the first of many to come as headliners.
