Description:
I really enjoyed listening to this album, (partly because it reminded me of The Killers). “Waking Up” has a lively beat yet the lyrics prove otherwise. “Waves” is probably my favorite song from the album: it’s a sad, energetic bop to dance to when you feel down. “Kid Edison” has a very hypnotic yet upbeat vibe and “Your Version of Politics” sounds like a theme song that could be played in a cult film set at a local high school. “Come Around (Closing In)” is one of the slower songs and it is very melodramatic. Contrastingly, “Count the Ways” is a sweet, romantic song perfect to play during Valentine’s. “The Hard Way” sounds like something that could be played at the beginning of an ’80’s film where boy meets mysterious and rebellious girl. “Walls” is another upbeat song that you could chill out to with a good beat and “Unexamined Life” sounds like the end to a beginning — hopefully sad. Overall, I liked the album and will definitely play on my show!
Sounds Like: The Killers, Sleep State
