Description:
This song really annoyed me, the first half reminded me of the soundtrack that would be used in a low-budget, bad rom-com. The production doesn’t make sense, I don’t really understand the vibe the song was going for. It reminded me of tropical music but also the harmonies and overall vocals were reminiscent of early 2000s cheap pop. The song was catchy, but that being said that frustrated me even more because I was left with this riff in my head that really irked me. I am the type of person who enjoys good rocking music or easy listening, and this did not fit either of those categories for me. I was overall confused and had trouble getting through the song in its entirety. I feel as though there is too much going on in this song, the second half differs greatly from the first half (and it is the latter that I prefer, as it departs from the vocals used in the beginning and has a more danceable, funky/soul vibe). Perhaps if the song had that funky vibe throughout it would have been more enjoyable for me.
Sounds Like: early 2000s cheap pop
