The Hardest Album of 2022: Freddies Inferno

Album: Freddies Inferno

Artist: Freddie Dredd

Label: RCA Records

Non-Airable Tracks: All

Description:

Freddie Dredd has been the king of dark trap alongside $uicideboy$, Ghostmane, and Xavier Wulf since his rise in 2019 with his hit single "Evil Fantasy" and "Cha Cha." His new album is produced to perfection, and you can definitely tell how much better his quality of music has gotten. He produces himself under the name "Ryan C" and probably makes some of the hardest beats in the whole phonk genre. I really liked his last album SUFFER so when I found out that he had released another album, I rushed to my Spotify and played the whole album three times straight. I have been a fan of him since before 2019 so it's been awesome watching him grow and listening to all his new releases from his new album Freddies Inferno. This album absolutely blew me away.

His lyrics, although violent, tell stories of his sick and twisted persona as Freddie Dredd. He inflicts horror in this album, just in time for October. The album is bass-heavy, focusing mainly on his Memphis Rap sound. After re-listening to some of his old songs I realized that Doomshops' production really outdid itself with the quality of this album vs his others. Freddie's voice sounds clearer than it usually does while sustaining his signature phonk sound from his voice. My only negative comment about this album is that his beats are relatively the same and some of his other albums had more variety. His past albums seem to be more experimental but now I think after both SUFFER and Freddie's Inferno, he has mastered his craft and his sound. Needless to say, he has definitely established himself, as an essential Memphis Rap artist.

I do wish there were more features on this album as he only featured Lil Darkie and prod668. Freddie has the influence to easily get more influential rappers onto his albums but he never does, which I think is a waste of his talent. I'm hoping in the future he will do a Ramirez, $uicideboy$, or Ghostmane feature to elevate his music to the next level. Overall, I think this is a really good album, it just needs a couple more features and variety in the tracks. My top picks for the album are below!
