Description:
Over the past year, we have had some fantastic original soundtracks come out of big budget movies. Major production companies are beginning to drain a ton of money into creating excellent soundtracks that are very much worth the listen. As we near closer and closer to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, tracks from the movie are starting to drop. The first track to drop off the album is ‘Sunflower’ by Post Malone and Swae Lee – and let me tell you, this generic track is carried solely on the good vibes it produces.
‘Sunflower’ is an extremely pretty sounding track- there is no arguing this. The beat is very mellow and soft, making this a very soothing listen. Nothing about this track is relatively groundbreaking, and it is a pretty generic pop-rap song, but that doesn’t necessarily make this a bad song. Vocally, Post and Swae are both quite talented- making this the best element of the track. Their range vocally is quite outstanding especially Post who can switch seamlessly from rap to pop-rock.
Overall, ‘Sunflower’ is an extremely chill track that will make many rounds on the radio. If you are a fan of the pop-rap genre and the vocal performances of both Post Malone and Swae Lee, then this is the track for you. This track fulfills its purpose, and I feel like it will and already has made fans of the genre very happy. If I had to rate this song, I would give it a solid 6/10.
