One day my boyfriend told me about a game that was quite similar to the beloved Animal

Crossing, but revolves around Hello Kitty with her friends. From that day on, January 30th was on my calendar. As that date came into view, Hello Kitty Adventure Island instantly became the most intricately breathtaking video game I had ever witnessed. Every color under the sun in every shade is pictured in this production with bright pinks detailing the

umbrellas laid on the floor to the aquamarine greens that blend in the water.

Motifs of friendship are clearly depicted as players work through the game to interact with all of the characters and give gifts to one another. Conversation between characters may be my favorite part of the game. Being able to pick your response for customization, along with the playful stories the characters tell will definitely bring the brightest smile to your face. The banter can be so random at times and it will genuinely make me giggle from how silly these characters are.

What makes this game something I have never seen before is just how detailed every single part of the game is. Whether baking in Hello Kitty’s Cafe or in the depths of the Spooky Swamp, details are in every single corner you turn, it almost feels overwhelming how detailed the game is. The tiles of the cafe are checkered pink and cream followed by a similar striped colored wall. The entire cafe, all the way down to the checkout counter’s register and banner that lines it, follows the pink and cream detailing. When one of these houses has a color, it follows it throughout the whole place. Walking outside along the beach: chairs, seashells, trees, towels, rocks, umbrellas, and wood create the feeling that you are truly there.

All in all, the graphics along with the fun-loving nature of the characters storylines and

the friendship filled themes makes this game the best thing ever, ten out of ten.
