Description:
So I asked for a terrible album to review and I got one. Living Dead Island is out with their first album “Living Dead Island” and my god is it about the living dead. They are a metal band but I really don’t know what kind. They are industrial most of the time but then go into a Nine Inch Nails vibe and it doesn’t really work together. Most of the songs just repeat an undead-related phrase multiple times. Then the last couple songs get kinda jazzy and I don’t know why. In general, they are way too gimmicky and I can’t take them seriously. Zombies aren’t popular anymore guys. That being said, when I listen I usually don’t hate the music until the vocals start. Whatever they are doing to the vocal track, it needs to stop. The only person who knows what they’re doing is the guitarist and frankly, he needs a new band.
Side note: “The Countess with the Ravenous Gaze” is literally just heavy breathing and grunts or words that I can’t understand and it makes me really uncomfortable.
Sounds Like: What you would listen to if you were stranded on an island and this is the only music available to you while you slip into insanity. Oh and you’re undead.
