Multiple Members of Kamp Sports Contributed to this Ranking. They were assigned to give each team a Power Ranking Index based out of Ten…much like one would do with a slice of pizza. The Power Ranking Index Number will precede each team and their record (abbreviated PRI).
(PRI 8.5)--Detroit Lions (3-1): Detroit has done well against the NFC West, 3-0 to be exact. The Lions only loss came against Tampa Bay of the NFC South. The only NFC West team Detroit has not faced is San Francisco, that rematch from last year’s championship game should be much anticipated when they face off on December 30th.
(PRI 8.4)--Kansas City Chiefs (4-0): Kansas City continues to win close games. In previous postseasons, the Chiefs have been incredibly successful in tight games and this trend has continued into the 2024 regular season. Kansas City has won all four games by seven points or less.
(PRI 8.4)--Buffalo Bills (3-1): The Bills got a jolt of reality on Sunday Night when they fell to the Ravens 35-10. Entering the matchup, Buffalo looked unstoppable and led the league in many offensive metrics. However, the Bills of the first three weeks were nowhere to be found in Baltimore. Buffalo was ranked first last week, this week they dropped two spots this week.
(PRI 8.3)--Minnesota Vikings (4-0): After one month there are two undefeated teams, lets see…alright Kansas City that seems right, who is the other? That’s right, the Minnesota Vikings. Since the Vikings season kicked off in Metlife Stadium week 1, they have only impressed. After the Giants, it was the 49ers (one of the league's best). Then Houston, another top team. However, Minnesota’s most recent win may be their most impressive. Sunday the Vikes earned a divisional win, on the road, in Green Bay against the Packers. Minnesota led by as much as 28 and hung on, 31-29 over the Packers, to remain perfect on the year.
(PRI 8.2)--Baltimore Ravens (2-2): Remember when the Ravens were concerned with starting 0-3 for the second time ever. Yeah, us neither. Baltimore is now the betting favorite in the AFC North and looks like the team that was at the top of the conference in 2023. Derrick Henry had a statement game against Buffalo, rushing for 199 yards on 24 attempts and a touchdown.
(PRI 7.8)--San Francisco 49ers (2-2): San Francisco looks like a juggernaut at home. Sunday, the 49ers were home and outgained New England by 215 yards and won the turnover battle 3-2. On the road it has been a different story. Luckily for the 49ers, they will be home next week against Arizona.
(PRI 7.7)--Green Bay Packers (2-2): QB Jordan Love took some time to knock off the rust Sunday against Minnesota, but did sharpen up in the second half. The Packers fought hard, despite trailing by 28 at one point in the first half. In totality, Love was 32 of 54 for 389 yards. He also tossed 4 touchdowns on three interceptions. The Packers 54 pass attempts reeked of a team who couldn’t really throw for the past two weeks.
(PRI 7.6)--Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers probably needed what happened to them against the Denver Broncos. The Bucs were humbled especially by Denver’s defense and improved drastically on Sunday against the Eagles. QB Baker Mayfield bounced back nicely against Philly, completing 30 of 47 for 347 yards and a touchdown.
(PRI 7.5)--Houston Texans (3-1): Houston has not looked perfect so far this season– far from it actually. However, the Texans are 3-1 and have been able to win ugly, and it has been ugly. Houston’s 24-20 victory over Jacksonville was far from aesthetically pleasing, but the Texans are 2-0 within their division, which is always good.
(PRI 7.4)--Los Angeles Chargers (2-2): The Chargers are banged up. Their star QB Justin Herbert has been playing, but is clearly compromised. LA’s standout Offensive lineman Joe Alt missed their matchup against Kansas City on Sunday. The Chargers are also waiting for Derwin James to return following a one game suspension. The Chargers are likely content to already have a bye week.
(PRI 7.2)--Philadelphia Eagles (2-2): The Eagles have dropped two games to the AFC South and now as a result are looking at the Washington Commander's headlights in the division. Besides Washington, Philadelphia should have larger concerns. The Eagles were dominated on Sunday by Tampa Bay. Philadelphia was outgained 445-227, and had 13 fewer first downs than the Bucs. The Eagles also lost the turnover margin 2-0.
(PRI 7.1)--Atlanta Falcons (2-2): Atlanta edged out their second wild victory of the season against New Orleans on Sunday. Kirk Cousins led his second game winning drive in this young season and Atlanta got the win despite being: outgained, netting 11 fewer first downs than the Saints, and possessing the ball for 10:36 less than N.O. The only category the Falcons had the edge in was turnover margin, which was 2-1 in their favor.
(PRI 7.1)--Seattle Seahawks (3-1): The Seahawks have been steady this season and in general had a nice showing in Detroit against the Lions on Monday. No, Seattle did not win, but they outgained the Lions and … One concern for the Seahawks is actually their defense under new HC Mike McDonald. Seattle allowed QB Jared Goff to complete all 18 pass attempts and the Lions cracked 40, beating the Seahawks 42-27.
(PRI 6.9)--Cincinnati Bengals (1-3): The Bengals are glad September is over. Cincinnati is 7-15-1 in September under Head Coach Zac Taylor, safe to say October will be welcomed with open arms in southern Ohio.
(PRI 6.7)--New Orleans Saints (2-2): The Saints battled hard against Atlanta, taking a 24-23 lead with exactly one minute left. However, New Orleans left too much time on the clock for Atlanta and the Falcons went down and kicked a game winning FG, securing the 26-24 win for Atlanta. Derek Carr was efficient, but not excellent, completing 28 of 36 for 239.
(PRI 6.5)--New York Jets (2-2): The Jets did a lot right against New England in week 3…they did a lot less right 10 days later against Denver. New York’s offensive line allowed QB Aaron Rodgers to be pressured 14 times and sacked 5 times. If Aaron Rodgers continues to be pressured at this rate the Jets will continue to struggle.
(PRI 6.4)--Washington Commanders (3-1): No rookie QB has looked nearly as good as Jayden Daniels this season. The number two overall draft pick is performing as well as any signal caller in the league. Over the past two weeks, Daniels has completed 47 of 53 for 487 passing yards. In addition to those passing numbers, Daniels has rushed for 86 yards in their past two games.
(PRI 6.3)--Arizona Cardinals (1-3): Arizona got many excited after their 41-10 Rams victory in week 2. Since then, the Cardinals have dropped two games at home in disappointing fashion. Arizona was not competitive Sunday against Washington, who thoroughly dominated their defense. The Commanders scored 42 points and compiled 449 total yards and 29 first downs.
(PRI 6.3)--Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1): The Steelers seemed due for a letdown game, and it happened Sunday against Indianapolis. Pittsburgh, who has been forcing turnovers left and right, did not force a single turnover against the Colts offense, which was led primarily by Joe Flacco.
(PRI 6.2)--Dallas Cowboys (2-2): The Cowboys relied on a rivalry that has been very kind to them over the past few years, beating the New York Giants once again. Dallas is not a finished product, but at least they have stopped the bleeding for now.
(PRI 6.2)--Los Angeles Rams (1-3): The Rams saved their season in the second half against the 49ers in week 3. LA outscored the 49ers 20-3 late and won. They may have given it back on Sunday, when they fell 24-18 against the Chicago Bears. The Rams too are severely injured, playing without WR’s Nacua and Kupp.
(PRI 5.5)--Indianapolis Colts (2-2): Indianapolis could be the next team where Joe Flacco revives his career. Anthony Richardson left Sunday with yet another injury, as questions loom about his fragility and rushing tendencies. Richardson is listed as questionable for next week.
(PRI 5.1)--Las Vegas Raiders (2-2): The Raiders are .500. It has not been steady, but that is where they are. Las Vegas did the opposite of projections over weeks 2 and 3, beating Baltimore and losing to Carolina, but fought hard and collected a much needed victory against Cleveland on Sunday.
(PRI 5.1)--Denver Broncos (2-2): Denver spent parts of 9 days on the east coast, staying at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia between games in Tampa and New York. Apparently they should hang at resorts all the time because Denver went 2-0 on their east coast trip. The Broncos defense made the trip allowing a combined 16 points over two games.
(PRI 4.9)--New England Patriots (1-3): New England’s offensive line is dangerous… for whoever is playing behind it. The Patriots have allowed 13 sacks in the past two games. At that rate, they should not put in Drake Maye, despite fans clamoring for him.
(PRI 4.8)--Chicago Bears (2-2): That’s right Packers fans, the Bears are 2-2 too. Now, not all 2-2 teams are equal in ability, but their records are the same. Rookie QB Caleb Williams has not looked great– Williams has more interceptions than touchdown passes and only one game where he threw for more than 175 yards.
(PRI 4.7)--New York Giants (1-3): The Giants picked up a much needed win in Cleveland last week. QB Daniel Jones and star rookie wideout Malik Nabers have a connection that many QBs desire. Nabers reeled in 8 receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. To have prolonged success, New York will need more from their rushing attack, especially against the vulnerable Cowboys on Thursday Night.
(PRI 4.5)--Tennessee Titans (1-3): Tennessee had to wait until the last day of September to get their first win, but they got it. The Titans defense did a nice job against Tyler Huntley and the Dolphins offense, holding them to 184 total yards and only 13 first downs.
(PRI 4.4)--Cleveland Browns (1-3): The Browns have not lived up to their preseason expectations. For starters, they are now tied with the Bengals for last in the AFC North. On top of that, Cleveland’s offense has looked better with anyone at QB not named Deshaun Watson. However, the Browns made their Watson bed three years ago, and they are continuing to lie in it– uncomfortably.
(PRI 4.0)--Miami Dolphins (1-3): Miami is in desperate need of a QB, and no Tyler Huntley does not count. If the Dolphins still intend on saving their season they will need to make a more drastic decision. Or they can wait until week 8 for Tua– if that happens.
(PRI 3.7)--Carolina Panthers (1-3): Carolina looks night and day better than they did under QB Bryce Young, that much is undisputed. The Panthers have scored 30 points per game under QB Andy Dalton, 23.5 more than under Young, when they averaged only 6.5 points per game. The largest difference however, is how much more competitive this team is. The Panthers truly have opportunities to win games under Dalton.
(PRI 3.1)--Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4): Jacksonville is the last man not standing. The Jaguars were the only team to lose all four games in September. Jacksonville competed in Houston on Sunday falling 24-20, but their offense still leaves quite a bit to be desired. Jacksonville was outgained by over 100 yards for the second straight week and QB Trevor Lawerence completed only 18 on 33 attempts.
