Multiple Members of Kamp Sports Contributed to this Ranking. They were assigned to give each team a Power Ranking Index based out of Ten…much like one would do with a slice of pizza. The Power Ranking Index Number will precede each team and their record (abbreviated PRI).
(PRI 8.7)--Buffalo Bills (3-0): The Bills under OC Joe Brady are scoring a lot of points– 37.34 per game to be exact. Buffalo has also won their past two games by a combined 58 points. Suffice to say, Buffalo’s dominating form has landed them atop Kamp Sports Power Rankings with the highest PRI of 8.7. This buzzsaw is off to Baltimore for a national television appearance.
(PRI 7.8)--Detroit Lions (2-1): Detroit has done well against the NFC West, beating both the LA Rams, and most recently, the Arizona Cardinals. Detroit has another NFC West opponent on the schedule, this time a home game against Seattle on Monday Night Football. OK, that’s all well and good, but why are the Lions number 2? Well, Detroit has outgained their opposition by an average of 96 yards per game– that is usually a good sign!
(PRI 7.7)--Philadelphia Eagles (2-1): No one team has played as many competitive quarters as the Philadelphia Eagles have this season. It seems like every play of every game has been highly consequential for the birds. The Eagles entered the fourth quarter with a doughnut on the scoreboard on Sunday. Philadelphia proceeded to hang a 15 spot in the most important quarter, putting them over the top, 15-12 against the Saints. The Eagles very well may play another tight contest next week in Tampa Bay.
(PRI 7.7)-- Kansas City Chiefs (3-0): Kansas City continues to win close games. In previous postseasons, the Chiefs have been incredibly successful in tight games and this trend has continued into the 2024 regular season. Kansas City has won their three games by a combined 13 points, and may very well play another tight one next week in LA against the Chargers.
(PRI 7.7)--Minnesota Vikings (3-0): Sam Darnold appears to be completely revitalized under HC Kevin O’Connel. Darnold has completed roughly 68% of his passes and has 8 TDs on 2 INTs. His main target has been Justin Jefferson who has 14 receptions for 228 yards as well as three TDs in three games. Minnesota will continue to be tested against their next two opponents, both of which wear green, Green Bay and the Jets.
(PRI 7.5)--New Orleans Saints (2-1): The Saints red hot offense had a large ice cube dropped in it on Sunday against the Eagles. New Orleans had only 219 yards against the Eagles and Carr struggled completing only 14 passes for 142 yards. The Saints defense continued to perform, all though it did surrender all 15 points in the fourth quarter. The Saints have a big divisional matchup next week in Atlanta.
(PRI 7.3)--Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers probably needed what happened to them. The Bucs were riding high, and rightfully so! Tampa was playing well and just upset the Lions on the road. However, on Sunday it appeared they were riding too high. Denver dominated the game from the first whistle to the last and it never realistically felt like the Bucs were going to win. Former QB Tom Brady will be on the call next week against the Eagles.
(PRI 7.2)--Green Bay Packers (2-1): Malik Willis has not only saved the Packers season by preventing them from starting 0-3, he also has jumpstarted Green Bay’s rushing attack which has netted 449 rushing yards under his two game stint. The Packers may get Jordan Love back this week against Minnesota.
(PRI 7.1)--New York Jets (2-1): The Jets made some significant strides during their week 3 rout of the New England Patriots. Aaron Rodgers by far had his best game as a Jet completing 27 of 35 for 281 yards. New York was also much better on the money down converting 10 of 15 3rd down attempts. The Jets host Denver on Sunday.
(PRI 7.1)--Baltimore Ravens (1-2): Baltimore picked up a much needed win to avoid their second 0-3 start in franchise history. The Ravens rushed for 274 yards against Dallas and Baltimore was just able to hang on 28-25. The Ravens road ahead is tough, next week they will be on Sunday Night Football against Buffalo before a divisional game against the Bengals the next week.
(PRI 7.0)--Los Angeles Chargers (2-1): The Chargers were riding high coming into a matchup LA was very excited about last week in Pittsburgh. Perhaps too excited as LA may have rushed Herbert back and he re-aggravated his ankle injury. Herbert’s status is in question before a key divisional game against Kansas City on Sunday.
(PRI 7.0)--Seattle Seahawks (3-0): Perhaps the most overlooked team in the league, Seattle under new HC Mike McDonald are one of five undefeated teams left in the NFL. The Seahawks have not had a tough go, beating three of the bottom teams in the AFC, but hey! A win is a win in this league. Seattle will be tested for the first time next Monday in Detroit.
(PRI 6.9)--Houston Texans (2-1): Houston’s flaws were exposed Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. The Texans struggled up front offensively allowing 5 sacks and committing several penalties. Additionally, Houston turned the ball over twice and did gain 300 total yards. C.J. Stroud will look to bounce back at home next week against Jacksonville.
(PRI 6.9)--Atlanta Falcons (1-2): Atlanta gave the defending champions everything they could handle in primetime. Atlanta may need to get more out of their ground game moving forward, they rushed for only 82 yards as a team Sunday against the Chiefs. However, following gritty performances against the Chiefs and Eagles, Atlanta looks like a solid team moving forward.
(PRI 6.8)--Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0): The Steelers defense is performing. Pittsburgh is atop the league in yards surrendered (just under 230 YPG) and has a positive turnover margin of +4. Fields also had his best game as a Steeler, completing 25 of 32 for 245 yards. It is easy to understand why Pittsburgh is 3-0 heading into a week 4 matchup with the Colts.
(PRI 6.7)--Arizona Cardinals (1-2): Arizona had many chances against Detroit on Sunday. However, the Cardinals couldn’t quite finish the drives or convert in key situations. Still, Arizona looks much improved and in their two losses has played some of the league's best down to the wire. The Cards will host Washington next week in what will be an interesting matchup between two explosive dual threat QBs.
(PRI 6.6)--San Francisco 49ers (1-2): San Francisco looked unbeatable after week 1. Since then they’ve been beaten twice in a row. This losing skid has caused the 49ers to drop more than any other team, 14 spots, from 3 to 17. Why? Well, it certainly is not because of their offense– The 49ers have averaged over 400 yards during this losing streak. The real problem has been key plays on defense. The Rams were 2-2 on fourth down Sunday and the week before Minnesota converted 7 of 12 third downs. Couple that with the niners three turnovers in the past two games and it makes more sense. Still San Francisco has lost those two games by a combined 9 points, so they are not far off. They should get it fixed next week against New England.
(PRI 6.3)--Los Angeles Rams (1-2): The Rams saved their season in the second half against the 49ers on Sunday. San Francisco led 21-7 halfway through the third quarter, but the Rams and QB Matthew Stafford rallied hard. The Rams outscored the 49ers 20-3 from that point and grabbed their first win of the season. The Rams have a chance to get back to .500 in Chicago next Sunday.
(PRI 5.9)--Dallas Cowboys (1-2): The Cowboys panic alarm is soundly blaring and will continue to do so until Dallas kickoffs against the Giants on Thursday. The Cowboys rush defense is incredibly worrisome– Dallas has surrendered 464 rushing yards in their past two home games, both of which were played at home. Not good.
(PRI 5.9)--Cincinnati Bengals (0-3): The Bengals are 6-15-1 in September under Head Coach Zac Taylor, many of those games with Joe Burrow as the team’s Quarterback. Taylor’s September struggles have continued in 2024. Two of Cincinnati’s three losses have come with the team heavily favored at home. One against New England and the other against the Commanders. The Bengals need to get hot– FAST!
(PRI 5.5)--Washington Commanders (2-1): No rookie QB has looked nearly as good as Jayden Daniels this season. The number two overall draft pick dazzled in Cincinnati on Monday, completing 21 of 23 passes and rushing 12 times, one of which was for a touchdown. Daniels had a passer rating of 141.7…not bad for a rookie.
(PRI 5.4)--Indianapolis Colts (1-2): Indianapolis was essentially the skinniest kid at fat camp on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Both teams partook in a sloppy game where the ball was coughed up a total of 5 times. Anthony Richardson has completed 27 of 54 passes in his past two starts and leads the league in interception with 6. The Colts host the undefeated Steelers on Sunday.
(PRI 5.3)--Cleveland Browns (1-2): Cleveland is in a difficult position in the AFC North. Baltimore has caught up and Pittsburgh is yet to lose a game. Following a home loss against the Giants, it is hard to envision the Browns anywhere but last in the division, even with the Bengals struggling. Cleveland will travel to Las Vegas next week.
(PRI 5.2)--New England Patriots (1-2): New England lost to the hated Jets by 21 on Thursday. Their most lopsided loss against the Jets since 1998 (at that time Belichick was on staff for NY) which has created real worry in New England. The Patriots offensive line had no answers to New York’s blitz combinations causing Brissett to be sacked 7 times. New England will need some answers before traveling to San Francisco next week.
(PRI 5.1)--Chicago Bears (1-2): Chicago could have used a win against Indianapolis on Sunday. Instead, QB Caleb Williams threw 3 INTs and the Bears could not capitalize on a game where they outgained the Colts by almost 200 yards, and had 11 more first downs. The Bears are quickly falling out of pace in the fiercely competitive NFC North.
(PRI 4.8)--Miami Dolphins (1-2): Miami has been here before, and the result is no better the second time. Tua Tagovailoa is out until week 8 at best and QB Skylar Thompson looks no closer to an NFL starter than he did in 2021. Miami should seriously consider other options. Hello Matthew Stafford or Bryce Young? The Dolphins lost by 21 for the second straight week. Next week on Monday Night Football feels like a must win against the winless Titans.
(PRI 4.8)--Las Vegas Raiders (1-2): The Raiders stole one in week 2, marching into Baltimore and emerging with a 26-23 win over the Ravens. Then they allowed one to be taken from them against Carolina in week 3. The Raiders defense was essentially shredded by a last place offense that added Andy Dalton to the lineup. Vegas will certainly have some drama to clean up this week following HC Antonio Pierce’s “business decision” comment. The Raiders host the Browns on Sunday.
(PRI 4.7)--Denver Broncos (1-2): Denver’s two game east coast trip got off to a nice start on Sunday when they convincingly upset the Buccaneers 26-7. Denver got a clean game from QB Bo Nix, who completed 25 of 36 and rushed for an additional 47 yards on 9 carries. If Denver can effectively run the football with Nix or their running backs, the Broncos offense may turn the corner. Denver will face a tough defense in the Jets on Sunday.
(PRI 4.4)--New York Giants (1-2): The Giants picked up a much needed win in Cleveland last week. QB Daniel Jones and star rookie wideout Malik Nabers have a connection that many QBs desire. Nabers reeled in 8 receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. To have prolonged success, New York will need more from their rushing attack, especially against the vulnerable Cowboys on Thursday Night.
(PRI 4.4)--Tennessee Titans (0-3): Tennessee is not where they want to be after week 3. For starters they are winless, and on top of that, Will Levis is second in the league in interceptions with 5, only trailing fellow NFC South QB Anthony Richardson in that category. Tennessee had higher expectations than what they are getting this season– perhaps locals should shift their attention to the number 5 ranked Tennessee Vols.
(PRI 3.9)--Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3): Oh boy! Jacksonville is going to hear a lot of the noise at 0-3 Tuesday morning. Much of the frustration is likely to be directed at HC Doug Pederson and QB Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence in all likelihood will not be on the move any time soon, as for Pederson, it is hard to imagine him surviving many more 37 point losses. The Jags play Houston next week.
(PRI 3.6)--Carolina Panthers (1-2): Carolina entered their meeting with the Raiders last in yardage and point differential. Then Andy Dalton came in and led the Panthers to a double digit victory and over 400 yards of offense. In fact, Carolina had more yards against the Raiders than they did in weeks 1&2 combined (and it wasn’t that close). The Panthers have the winless Bengals next week at home…did someone say winning streak?
