Multiple Members of Kamp Sports Contributed to this Ranking. They were assigned to give each team a Power Ranking Index based out of Ten…much like one would do with a slice of pizza. The Power Ranking Index Number will precede each team and their record (abbreviated PRI).
(PRI 8.3)--Kansas City Chiefs (2-0): Kansas City has won both games, but not without some good fortune. The Chiefs essentially won their opener by a toe, more specifically the toe of Isiah Likely, and were the beneficiaries of a late pass interference call Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Nonetheless, the Chiefs are without a loss heading into a Sunday Night Football appearance next week in Atlanta.
(PRI 8.2)--Buffalo Bills (2-0): The Bills picked up a key divisional road win on Thursday in Miami and currently lead the AFC East. Buffalo is averaging 32.5 points per game, despite losing offensive pieces over the offseason including Stefon Diggs, and Gabe Davis as well as center Mitch Morse. The Bills will host Jacksonville next Monday on ESPN.
(PRI 8.0)--San Francisco 49ers (1-1): After shutting down Aaron Rodgers and company, the 49ers struggled on the road against the Vikings. San Francisco surrendered 403 total yards and was 1-3 on fourth down. The 49ers are 5th in offensive yardage and have a +2 turnover margin. San Francisco heads down to SoCal Sunday to face the Rams in an affair that could have a lot of red in the stands.
(PRI 7.9)--Houston Texans (2-0): Houston has picked up right where they left off last winter. The Texans closed the season nicely, winning 3 of their last 4 regular season games before being eliminated in the divisional round by last year’s number 1 seed in the AFC, The Baltimore Ravens. The Texans are atop the AFC South with no other team within a game. Quarterback C.J. Stroud is completing just under 70% of his passes and has yet to throw an interception. Houston will travel to Minnesota next week to take on the undefeated Vikings.
(PRI 7.9)--Detroit Lions (1-1): After Detroit defeated the Los Angeles Rams, Jared Goff picked up his second win against his former team since January. However, Goff was not as sharp Sunday against Tampa Bay, throwing 2 interceptions. The Buccaneers defeated the Lions 20-16 and exacted revenge on the Lions from last year’s divisional round. On the bright side, Detroit is second in the league in yardage with 413 yards per game. The Lions high powered offense will head to the desert for a potential duel in the sun against the Arizona Cardinals.
(PRI 7.7)--Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by former number one overall pick Baker Mayfield, are red hot. The Bucs picked up a signature win in Detroit as 8 point underdogs and relied on all aspects of the team to do so. Despite being outgained by over 200 yards, the Bucs rallied on turnovers and played a clean game to tame the Lions. Tampa Bay is favored by 6.5 points next week at home against Denver. Tampa could be 3-0 for the first time since 2005.
(PRI 7.7)--New Orleans Saints (2-0): The Saints have not just won their first two games, they’ve dominated their opponents. For starters, New Orleans has a point differential of +62 and has outgained their opposition by an average of 133 yards per game. Additionally, New Orleans has a turnover margin of +3. A big game awaits the Superdome in New Orleans, as the Saints are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday.
(PRI 7.4)--Baltimore Ravens (0-2): Losing to the defending champion Chiefs by an inch to start the season is acceptable. Dropping a home opener to the Las Vegas Raiders however, is less acceptable. Baltimore will look to avoid an 0-3 start in Dallas next Sunday afternoon, The Ravens have been 0-3 only once in franchise history. Directly after Dallas, Baltimore will face Buffalo and Cincinnati in consecutive games.
(PRI 7.4)--Los Angeles Chargers (2-0): “Who’s got it better than us?”--”NOBODY!” The Chargers, under the direction of new HC Jim Harbaugh, have leaned on their running game heavily so far this season. The Chargers have rushed for over 175 yards in each of their first two games and have won by 12 and 23 points respectively. Los Angeles will be tested a bit more this week in Pittsburgh as they take on the Steelers in a battle between the undefeated.
(PRI 7.3)--Philadelphia Eagles (1-1): Following a win in Brazil the Eagles returned to the Linc and sent their fans home disappointed. Philadelphia led by 6 with under 2 minutes to play, however the defense could not make the necessary stop at the end of the game and the Falcons stunned the Eagles 22-21. Philadelphia has a tough matchup next week against the white hot New Orleans Saints.
(PRI 7.2)--Cincinnati Bengals (0-2): The Bengals are 6-14-1 in September under Head Coach Zac Taylor, many of those games with Joe Burrow as the team’s Quarterback. Taylor’s September struggles have continued in 2024. Cincinnati suffered a tough home loss against New England in week 1 and lost a nail-biter in Kansas City on Sunday by a point. The Bengals look to bounce back on Monday Night Football against the Washington Commanders.
(PRI 7.0)--Green Bay Packers (1-1): Green Bay rebounded with a much needed win at Lambeau Field in front of a packed crowd. Malik Willis stepped up in the absence of Jordan Love throwing only two incomplete passes. However, the true star for The Packers was Josh Jacobs who ran for 151 yards on a whopping 32 attempts. Green Bay’s defense also played a key role in the 16-10 win over Indianapolis, intercepting Anthony Richardson 3 times and allowing only 50% of his passes to be complete. The Pack head down to Nashville next Sunday.
(PRI 7.0)--New York Jets (1-1): For the first time as the Quarterback of The New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers completed a game that the Jets won. New York is back to .500 heading into their home opener against their longtime divisional rival New England Patriots. The Jets are 1-15 in their last 16 against New England.
(PRI 6.9)--Arizona Cardinals (1-1): The Arizona Cardinals are second in the league in points scored per game this season averaging 34.5. Arizona took Buffalo down to the wire in week 1 before thrashing their divisional foe LA Rams 41-10 on Sunday. Marvin Harrison put his touches on the game against the Rams with 4 catches for 130 yards and 2 TDs. The Cards will host the Lions on Sunday Afternoon and are a 3 point underdog.
(PRI 6.9)--Minnesota Vikings (2-0): Sam Darnold has Vikings fans saying, “WOW!” Minnesota handed San Francisco their first loss of the season and Darnold led the way during the Vikings' home opener. The former third overall pick is completing 72% of his passes and has a 2:1 TD-INT ratio through two games. Darnold has established A strong connection with wideout Justin Jefferson, who is dealing with a quad. Jefferson’s status for next week against Houston is currently listed as questionable.
(PRI 6.8)--Seattle Seahawks (2-0): The Seahawks traveled the entire nation to play the New England Patriots and fought for all 60 minutes. Seattle dragged the Patriots to OT and left with the victory. The Seahawks under new HC Mike McDonald have scored 24.5 points per game good enough for ninth in the league. Seattle will host Miami, sans Tua, Sunday afternoon.
(PRI 6.6)--Atlanta Falcons (1-1): The week of the upsets concluded Monday Night with the Falcons delivering the closing act. Atlanta came from behind late on the road to steal the game from the gritty Philadelphia Eagles. Kirk Cousins put together a vintage drive and subsequently laid to rest his own personal prime-time narrative. Kirk will be back at it again under the lights next week, when the Falcons host the defending champion Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
(PRI 6.5)--Dallas Cowboys (1-1): The Cowboys silenced much of the noise surrounding the team after a dominant week 1 victory in Cleveland. However, all of that same noise is back and louder than ever following a stunning 44-19 home loss against the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans rushed for 190 yards and Dallas turned the ball over twice. Next, the Cowboys will host the Ravens in a matchup where both teams will be playing with some urgency.
(PRI 6.4)--Los Angeles Rams (0-2): The Rams are in jeopardy of losing their first three games of the season considering they’ve dropped their first two and host the 49ers next week. Matt Stafford will likely be without Kupp and definitely be without Nacua who is on IR.
(PRI 6.2)--Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0): Alone at the top of the NFC North is one team and that is the Pittsburgh Steelers. To their credit they have played stringent defense and taken the football away 5 times in 2 games. However, the Steelers offense led by new Quarterback Justin Fields has scored only one touchdown so far this season. Pittsburgh will host the LA Chargers next Sunday.
(PRI 6.1)--Las Vegas Raiders (1-1): The Raiders stole one on Sunday, marching into Baltimore and emerging with a 26-23 win over the Ravens. Gardner Minshew threw for over 275 yards and completed 30 of 38 passes. Las Vegas is favored by 5.5 points next week at home against the Carolina Panthers.
(PRI 6.0)--Miami Dolphins (1-1): Miami had a disastrous night on Thursday at Hard Rock Stadium. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered his third concussion in as many seasons and the Dolphins season may be in peril as they head cross-country to play the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Miami most likely will start Skylar Thompson under center.
(PRI 6.0)--New England Patriots (1-1): New England had a very good probability of being 2-0 Sunday when kicker Joey Slye was lining up for a 48 yard field goal to put the Patriots up 6 points with under 4 minutes to play. Seattle broke through to block that field goal and rallied to sour New England’s home opener in OT, 23-20. The Patriots have a short week with a trip down to New Jersey looming. New England has won 8 straight games in Metlife Stadium against the Jets. New England will look to continue to play clean football against New York, the Patriots are yet to turn the ball over this season.
(PRI 5.7)--Cleveland Browns (1-1): It has not been pretty, but the Browns are 1-1. Deshaun Watson was better in Jacksonville Sunday and the Browns did not turn the ball over. Additionally, Cleveland’s defense looked more recognizable, sacking Trevor Lawerence four times and holding the Jags to 13 points on the road. Cleveland did commit 13 penalties for 100 yards, they will look to clean that up at home next week against The New York Giants.
(PRI 5.4)--Indianapolis Colts (0-2): Indianapolis is effectively experiencing the growing pains of having a rookie Quarterback despite the fact that Anthony Richardson is technically in his second season. Richardson was injured during The Colts second game last year, and went on to miss the entire season. Up against a tough Packers defense, Richardson struggled. The first round pick out of Florida was 17 of 34 with 3 interceptions, resulting in a 16-10 loss in Green Bay. The Colts will look for their first win next week at home against The Chicago Bears.
(PRI 5.3)--Chicago Bears (1-1): The Bears defense appears to be a much improved unit. They have allowed 277 yards per game thus far. Along with that impressive average, they’ve registered 3 sacks in each of their games, which is up from last year. Chicago still needs more from Caleb Williams who is yet to throw a touchdown pass. Chicago has a roadtrip across state lines against the Colts next year.
(PRI 5.2)--Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2): It could be getting late early for the Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson. Jacksonville has invested in Trevor Lawrence already, (5yr 275M) but Doug Pederson is on his third season with the team and may be feeling the heat from Owner Shahid Khan. To his credit, Khan is incredibly patient, but the results for Pederson and the regression of Lawrence are significant problems that he undoubtedly recognizes. Pederson could use an upset victory in week 3, as the Jaguars travel up to Buffalo as a 5.5 point underdog.
(PRI 4.9)--Tennessee Titans (0-2): Tennessee has been close in both losses, leading each of their first two games at Halftime. However, Will Levis has had multiple turnovers in each of the Titans games, both of which resulted in 24-17 losses. Tennessee is a slight favorite next week at home against The Green Bay Packers.
(PRI 4.3)--Washington Commanders (1-1): Rookie Quarterback Jayden Daniels collected his first win as an NFL starter against the New York Giants on Sunday completing 23 of 29 passes for 226 yards and rushing for an additional 44 yards. The Commanders as a team rushed for 215 yards which helped tilt the time of possession battle in favor of Washington 37:32 against The Giants 22:28 minutes of possession. Washington has a primetime roadtrip upcoming to Cincinnati.
(PRI 4.1)--New York Giants (0-2): The Giants have had a lot of success in Washington in recent years, winning 5 of their past 6 games there. However, a couple of tough breaks prevented New York from continuing the trend, including playing without their Kicker Graham Gano. The Giants scored 18 points off of 3 touchdowns. If they could’ve converted each PAT, the game likely would have gone to OT tied at 21, instead the Giants fell 21-18. Next week New York will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns on Sunday afternoon.
(PRI 4.0)--Denver Broncos (0-2): Denver has not looked good so far. Rookie Quarterback Bo Nix has gotten off to a slow start and the stats back it up. In two starts, Nix has thrown 4 interceptions and is yet to throw a touchdown pass. The Broncos have consecutive road trips to the east coast, the first in Tampa and the second up to New Jersey to play the Jets.
(PRI 2.3)--Carolina Panthers (0-2): Where to begin…Carolina under new HC Dave Canales is capital S Struggling. Carolina is dead last in the league in many categories including yards per game (176), points scored per game (6.5), and points allowed per game (36.5). Note it’s never good to be last in points for and points against. Suffice to say, the Panthers have earned spot number 32 in our Power Ranking Index. Carolina travels to Sin City next week to take on the Raiders.
