Description:
Imminence’s new song “Alleviate,” seamlessly blends feelings of passion, lonesomeness, confusion, and suffering for all listeners. Instrumentally, there are numerous elements to this song that truly uplift one into a period of introspection and blurred reflection. For instance, there are alternating periods of piano, violin, and drums, followed by spirited guitar breaks for the chorus. In terms of the lyrics, the tune reflects on feeling that you are suffering on your own as an outsider while not knowing how to open yourself up to others. Furthermore, it emphasizes frustration that has arisen from feeling that nothing will change for the better; the artist notes that this is because the individual may struggle to break away from certain “chains.” Altogether, I enjoyed this song as it allows listeners to slip away into their own states of introspection, which can further galvanize them to break apart and analyze that which confines them.
