Description:
Chat Pile’s “Cool World’ 2025 tour made its way to Mesa Arizona and did not disappoint. The lineup for this show was spectacular, the energy of the crowd and all of the bands were genuinely awesome. It was my first time hearing all of the bands on the line up in a live show.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first band, Nightosphere, the slow shoegaze sound was otherworldly. I found myself closing my eyes and feeling the vibrations from the amps, just actually feeling the music. The guitar in their song “Foxfire” gave me goosebumps, the band’s melodic nature was a surprise that they accompanied punk rock and noise rock bands. The combination of these genres meshed very well for the night.
The next band, Gouge Away, was a swift shift into noise rock (preparing the audience for Chat Pile). The energy that the lead singer had was infectious, her jumping and screaming allowed for mosh pits to ensue. The song “Uproar” was the perfect song to trash around too, this is when I really started to headbang. Gouge Away was the perfect ‘warm up’ to Chat Pile.

Last but not least, Chat Pile was on stage. The band’s lead singer, Raygun Busch, had conversations with the crowd that were quite entertaining. I felt like when a performer actually interacted with crowds, it feels like they actually care about their audience. Raygun was talking about his grandma living in Peoria and was talking about his time in Arizona while on tour. While watching this performance, I could tell that Raygun and Cap’n Ron were lost in their craft, the body movements and facial expressions they made had an impact on me throughout the show. In the crowd a lot of the people were quite entranced with the music and respectful (as usual with metal show, #concertetiquette). Although there wasn’t any stage diving or crowd surfing, the crowd’s passion for the music had people yelling the lyrics and headbanging.
Towards the end of the show, I finally got to mosh during “Dallas Beltway” and “Rainbow Meat”, and the energy of the crowd was electric. At first, it seemed like they had ended with ‘Dallas Beltway,’ as the band left the stage. But the crowd wasn’t ready to call it a night just yet. Chants of ‘one more song’ filled the venue, and after a minute, Chat Pile returned to deliver ‘Rainbow Meat’ as the final blow. The encore was the cherry on top, ending the night on an electrifying high. Their song “Why” was stuck in my head for the rest of the night. Let’s just say that I went to sleep happy that night.

The venue was quite nice, I really enjoyed the AC and the size of the venue was perfect. The Nile was a perfect venue for this type of sweaty moshing type of Metal show. I would definitely like to see these bands again, I very much enjoyed the concert. I give the overall experience a 10/10, I definitely have their songs in my rotation and I will keep a lookout for any other shows they have.
