Description:
‘Charlotte’s Thong’, released September 19th, 2018, is the second single from Connan Mockasin’s upcoming third album (under this name), Jassbender, which comes out on October 12th, 2018. This single was preceded by the single ‘Conn Conn Was Impatient’.
Like most of Connan Mockasin’s musical ouptut, this song is genre-blending, eclectic, and atmospheric without veering into the boring or predictable. With lots of dreamy, shimmery guitars with groovy melody lines and solos, interesting textures, and enough time and space within the song to get into a groove, this is a nice psych-y jam with a touch of RnB. Coming in at 8:56, this is a fairly long, sprawling track, but in a good way – it’s a nice song to get lost in for a bit. It doesn’t get monotonous, there’s enough going on and enough movement to be engaging. Overall, it’s a vibe.
Sounds Like: Ariel Pink, Drugdealer, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Part Time
